I take watch in what was once a tavern. After tearing through rations my companions fall into a blissful sleep. Ajax staggers in a few minutes later, looking like a new dragon. “feeling better I ask” I heard the sounds of combat, but I couldn’t force down or out this sickness, I guess I missed it. “You didn’t miss much Well you missed the uh revel with the tree-folk” “Revel” his eyebrows raised. You mean that plume of smoke that was wafting down the road? It smelled like flowers at first and it actually made my stomach feel like new. Then it smelled like burning flesh. I realized he had caught a contact walking in. “yea we uh smoked the tree-folk, literally beat those zombies to a pulp then burned them thats pretty much what you missed. “oh he said you have some extra rations? Im starving. I passed him one of mine and he got about halfway through before passing out. Not a bad days work I guess, or maybe it was more fun because I was blasted out of my mind. The cleric says she serves Isis? I had never heard of such a goddess. She said she is from another world. I don’t know how I feel about that. The gods of this world and their prattling and meddling was more than enough. Mix in demons and other beings and the last thing anyone needed was offworld gods tinkering about. She was useful, that would suffice for now. I wondered if I could talk her out of her breastplate. Extra armor would suit me well. Also, corrupting a cleric into running around bare breasted had its own no small amount of humor to it as well. It may be distracting for Dare though. Drunk and high wasn’t a good look for him, drunk alone worked fine. He could have been killed and eaten by the time the rest of us arrived. I was to busy giggling to my self and hallucinating. I would have actually of felt bad if he was eaten. Oh now I know I’m still high, concern for dare yuck. I feel really bad for the cleric though if she was sent to guide us. That was a tall order. Especially considering her laying there in a tree folk doob induced coma. Lord we corrupt everything we come into contact with.
