So I’ve been DM’ing a D&D campaign with some friends for about a year and a half now. It’s the first one I’ve ever done, and it’s a blast. We started with “Lost Mine of Phandelver” and slowly built off that to create a campaign of our own.
At first I would write quick summaries of what happened the previous week as a way to refresh our memories. As more game time went by, these small write-ups became more like a written story. Now, nearly two years later, it’s a lot of fun to look back on where we’ve been. Along the way, one of the players started journaling for his character, Lilvari, as well. While I try to keep the narrative away from going inside the players’ minds (I want to keep true to my position as DM and stay out of the players’ heads and decisions), Lilvari’s journal entries give us that ‘in-the-weeds’ view.
So now… I figured I’d add the whole thing here on my blog. Doing so gives the players an easily accessible way to read the entries, and WordPress does a better job on the formatting than I could ever hope to accomplish. And, of course, it makes the entries available to the public in case anyone would ever get bored and want something to read.
The journal in its entirety can be found here or by clicking on the ‘Adventures of Team Ramrod’ nav link.
