They made camp just before nightfall. Dare took first watch, and while he sat near the fire, fascinated by the fireflies, a gang of thieves sneaked up on him and the rest of the sleeping party. Mystic was beaten so badly by a bugbear that she nearly died and would have if not for Mercarri’s healing magic. One of the thugs was very gaunt and had red, glowing eyes — symptoms immediately recognizable by the group. It seems as if this thug had at some point taken the same drug that Dare snorted awhile back. 

Mystic turned into a giant poisonous snake and started attacking the bugbears. Droop used his customized weapon to shoot spells at the other foes while Dare and Lilvari defended themselves against numerous attackers.

The thieves were quick and vicious and fought very well, but so did Team Ramrod. At one point, the thieves surrounded Lilvari. Dare was close by. She took his hand and immediately teleported some twenty feet away. A thunderous wave erupted In her wake, killing several thieves and severely wounding the others. Dare, having apparated near one of the bugbears, ended him quickly with Talon. Now only two thieves remain out of the original seven: a nervous-looking bugbear and a wide-eyed human. It seems that this attempted robbery isn’t going to plan.
