Ambushed…

Shortly after the adventurers turn onto the Triboar Trail, they come across a chaotic scene. Two dead horses that they recognize as belonging to Gundren Rockseeker and Sildar Hallwinter block their path. While examining the site they are ambushed by three goblins. Combat ensues but the adventurers are victorious. 

Phandalin…

The adventurers arrive at Phandalin that night. They bring Gundren’s supplies to Bathen’s Provisions and tell Elmar Barthen, the proprietor, of Gundren’s fate. He offers them 30gp each to search for Gundren, giving them half before they set out. Dare gets very drunk at Stonehill Inn. Mystic gets room and board for free after agreeing to entertain the guests with her flute. The adventurers cause a scene the next morning at the Shrine of Luck when Sister Garaele refuses to part with three health potions.

The Cave…

The group heads back to the site of the ambush to look for clues. There, they find a goblin trail leading north west. It ends at the mouth of a large cave. Could this be where Gundren and Sildar were taken?
